Bit confuse with the ticket status for Gelmerbahn in this website -> http://www.grimselwelt.ch/en

I am able to buy any ticket for Gelmerbahn between 31 May to 2 June, but notice they give two different opening time.

In website showing opening from 25th May, but in the other page showing open starting from 8th June. Really looking forward to this trip, should i proceed to buy return tickets for 2 june? Anyone can advice on this.

Hi Bear2019,

It seems that due to a rockfall there is maintenance work on the Gelmerbahn http://www.grimselwelt.ch/en/ transport-lift/gelmer

The 2nd of June should be fine, as that is stated as being open before the 7th June by exception, hence the other website mentioning the opening date as 8th June.

I think I’d buy tickets on the day because it is an open carriage and would be pretty miserable in the rain.

Can anyone clarify on the ticket required, that it includes both ways ascent and descent?

If not , is there any other means of travel ?

Any discount for Swiss Travel Pass holder ?

You can buy either one-way or return tickets as there are also some do-able hikes. See:
