Geneva Airport – Passport Control

After disembarking on time at Geneva we were faced with an exceedingly long queue to get thru passport control …in fact taking about 45 minutes in a zig zag queue in a poorly ventilated space.

This looks like the norm for UK visitors where the automated passport control machines don’t seem to be accepting UK passports with onboard chips. Interestingly the Union Jack flag on the automated route is now covered over with a sheet of paper.

What made it doubly disappointing was the sight of 2 custom officers chatting away in the automated queue (empty) while the other long queue barely moved.

    Hi John22,

I am very sorry for your bad experiences at the passport control at Geneva Airport. I hope that from now on your Swiss holiday will be wonderful. I wish you all the best and please feel free to ask any questions if anything pops up.

    Take care,
