    Hi there –

We are flying into Geneva on April 2nd. and spending the night. We want to leave midday April 3rd and head to Interlaken area. We’d love to stay in smaller village south vs interlaken with opportunity to do days trips on the 4th/early the 5th. We need to arrive in Paris on Friday the 5th by say 7 pm.

    1) So based on need to travel via train from Geneva to Interlaken area.. between smaller tows for day trips – is Swiss Pass best route. I see a 3 day option which seems like it.

    2) Recommendations on where to stay the 3rd/4th… Grinnewold or likes??? What would be best quintessential Swiss town.. looking for quaint and mountain beauty.

    3) What’s best way to get from Interlaken area to Paris… like quickest way to spend as much time in Switzerland that day. And assume swiss rail won’t cover that?

    Thank you!

Hi Iowagirl and welcome to MySwissAlps!

You can indeed purchase the Swiss Travel Pass and travel to Interlaken: http://www.myswissalps.com/in terlaken

The Swiss Travel pass is good if you are travelling across Switzerland and travelling every day: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass

However to be sure that this is the best pass, you should map out your itinerary in detail and then choose the pass according to your itinerary. More information can be found here http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass

For the quickest way from Interlaken to Paris you can use our timetable: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable

However, I would like to offer you an alternative to your itinerary: instead of travelling to the Bernese Oberland and seeing you only have 4 days, you could equally get a really Swiss experience by staying in the Lake Geneva area. There are plenty of mountains there as well.

You could do Montreux, Lavaux vineyards (Unesco World Heritage site), Rochers-de-Naye and areas around Aigle (Leysin, Diablerets, Champery etc.) for example, all of which are very beautiful as well as Gruyeres castle (quintessential Swiss village) and the mountains around there. The main advantage I would see is that you would spend less time travelling and more time experiencing the beautiful Swiss scenery and views of Lake Geneva. If this option appeals to you, you can have a look at http://www.myswissalps.com/la kegeneva

If you opted for this option, you could go for this corresponding regional pass http://www.myswissalps.com/re gionalpasslakegeneva

Good luck with your choice and safe travels!

    Maria.
