I plan on 22SEP17 to take the horse drawn carriage ride, a round trip, from Pontresina to Hotel Roseg, and to have lunch in the hotel.

Please kindly advise how far between Hotel Roseg and Roseg Glacier. I don’t expect to walk on the glacier and just want to have a closer look. To compare to go to Morteratsch to see the glacier, which one has a better view and easy walk ?

Hello Peter,

Hiking to the Morteratsch glacier is easy. It takes about an hour and you can get pretty close to the ice. At least the last time I was there a few years ago. Unfortunately glaciers are retreating everywhere and in the Swiss Alps too. Please see myswissalps.com/hiking /morteratschglacier.

I don’t know exactly about the Roseg glacier but I am pretty sure it is at least an hour too. Last time I was there was in Winter so obviously it was all white 🙂 And we didn’t go beyond the hotel.
