Good afternoon I am about to make our set reservations on the Glacier Express and Golden Pass Line for August/September,

Can you please explain why on the Happy Rail web site it shows that the Glacier Express goes from Davos train 905 at 10.31 from the 25/5 to 17/9 to Zermatt, but you don’t seem to be able to book that connection. Should I be making our reservation from Chur.

Also as we are not travelling until Late August can I make the seat reservation without out having our swiss travel pass, and buy that closer to our departure from Australia.

To do a booking on the Golden Pass Line from Zermatt to Montreux where to we have to go from Zermatt to pick up the golden Pass Line.

Thanking you for your very informative blogs about Switzerland I have learnt a considerable amount about Switzerland.

Hello nanadell,

The Glacier Express (http://www.myswissalps.com/gl acierexpress) runs between St Moritz and Zermatt. You can join it at Chur (or FIlisur as suggested by Lucas in your earlier thread at http://www.myswissalps.com/fo rum/topic/swiss-travel-pass-71).

You can make seat reservations and pick your seats at shop.glacierexpress.ch from 90 days out from your travel date.

You may be a bit confused about the Golden Pass Line (http://www.myswissalps.com/go ldenpass. It runs from Montreux to Lucerne. You would get a regular train from Zermatt to Montreux to connect with the Golden Pass Line if that is what you are planning to do. No reservations are required for that trip.

If you are going to travel on the Golden Pass Line then reservations are recommended between Montreux and Zweisimmen. You can make reservations including seat selection at bit.ly/2kaq6Rf. Just change the class of travel, date of travel and start/end points to suit. And click the “e” for English language top right of the page. (where it says “Sprachwahl: d i f e”).
