The Glacier Express will start again from June 20th and from 8th June the rail network will be nearly complete.

However the southern border still has restrictions so check and recheck if you travel internationally.

Hi Blig,

That’s good news indeed.

The Swiss government has decided to lift most of the coronavirus restrictions after 8 June. And panoramic trains such as the Glacier Express is exprected to run again commencing 20th June. Certain services however may be restricted and strict hygiene guidelines must be observed.

As I understand it, Glacier Express will be limited to one train each way per day (just like the good old days)

CHF25 reduction on Excellence Class is a bit stingy considering the bar won’t even be open!

Hi Victoria,

Yes, unfortunately the bar will be closed due to strict hygiene protocols. However passengers are still able to enjoy partial catering services and prior dining reservation is recommended.
