    Hi..

I’m planning a trip to Switzerland in the last week of June – first week of July this year. We would be flying back from Zurich airport and would like to ride the Glacier Express on our penultimate day

    1. Would you recommend getting off at Chur or taking the whole trip to St Moritz, keeping in mind we have have to reach Zurich

    2. DO we have to change trains on any part of the Glacier Express trip.

    3. We plan on buying a Swiss Travel Pass once we reach Switzerland. Still would we need to make reservations in advance for the Glacier Express, considering reservation involves extra charges

    Thanks

Hi Kapurpranay and welcome to MySwissAlps!

You can certainly take the Glacier Express from Zermatt all the way to St. Moritz and then later that same day head to Zurich. It is a long day (8 hours on the Glacier Express: 8am to 4pm roughly, and then 3.5 hours to Zurich). Getting off at Chur would shorten the amount of time you are on the train of course, but there is some great scenery between Chur and St. Moritz you may not want to miss.

You do not have to change trains on the Glacier Express and yes, you must make reservations for the Glacier Express. It is the only extra cost for this train when using the Swiss Travel Pass.

    Regards,
    Lucas
