Some tickets sellers discourage seniors from taking the Golden Pass Montreux to Interlaken route because of the limited time to transfer change train in Zweisimmen. Just wondering if there is mad rush to transfer trains or is there a considerable distance in platforms.

    Hello RodgerPF,

Nice to see you’re planning to to the Golden Pass scenic trip when in Switzerland. If the SBB timetable provides you with a connection including the change in Zweisimmen, you can be sure there is enough time to change trains.

To save some time you can always already get ready by the doors when the train pulls in to the station. You can also just get on the new train anywhere and search your seats within the train, again avoiding missing the connection.

Hope this helps you find the best solution.

    Best,
    Steph

Hi RodgerPF! In addition to Steph’s answer: the Zweisimmen railway station is small, and the change usually only requires crossing the platform. The connection time is designed for a doable and smooth transition during your Golden Pass journey.

By the way, ticket resellers can’t influence times for changes and connections; those are choices made by the Swiss railways. Hope this reassures you :-)!

This is just about the commonest question on this forum! There is absolutely nothing to worry about. Under normal circumstances, 100s of passengers make the change every day.
