Golden Pass train – hop on / hop off?

    The golden pass train looks great. Would we be able to stop off at places en route?

    Hi Walkfan,

    Yes you can get off at any stop. The Golden Pass route isn’t specific train but a route.

    The 3 main sections are Lucerne – Interlaken – Zweisimmen – Montreux. You will change trains at at least twice (Interlaken & Zweisimmen) and you can stop at others if you want to. You can read more about the route here.

    Is it cheaper to get the Swiss travel pass before we travel?

    It is always the same price (online or in Switzerland) give or take a few dollars.

    But it is more convenient to buy the Swiss Travel Pass online as you have it before you arrive and can immediately jump on a train and of course you have an electronic back-up!
