Are there trains by this name or all trains traveling on the Golden Pass route named as such? Secondly the journey between Montreal’s and Lucerne is by single train or we have to change trains during course of the journey?

    Hi malraj,

There are no trains with such name. The Golden Pass is a train route marketed as the Golden Pass ( which is between Lucerne and Montreux) but with many different styles of trains running on it throughout the day.

Lucerne to Interlaken trains are called Lucern-Interlaken Express trains and are are similar to full panoramic trains. All trains between Interlaken – Zweisimmen are regional trains and not considered panoramic. And then the “golden pass” panoramic trains only travel between Zweisimmen and Montreux and are noted on the timetable as MOB Panoramic or Belle Epoque. Other standard trains run on this line as well so on the timetable you want to pick a train marked with the names above to ensure you are on a panoramic train.

Use the Swiss timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) to plan the trip and see where you need to change trains. Also, there are construction works going on the Golden Pass line. Read more here: http://www.myswissalps.com/go ldenpass.
