Hi again, we are having a wonderful week in Switzerland- planning to go to Gornergrat on Thursday 25th – do we need to book? As the weather might break I was thinking of waiting, but if we might not get on perhaps we should book anyway thanks Jill

The Gornergrat railway operates like a ski lift, with turnstile ticket gates leading into sectioned off waiting areas. As long as you are through the turnstile early and watch carefully the actions of the trains and the staff so that you can work out when the staff are going to ‘open the gate’ onto the platform, you will get a decent seat
