Gotthard Panorama Express – alternative

    I will not be able to take Gotthard Panorama Express because on Monday it is not available. Looks like I could take regional trains instead from Lugano to Goschenen. Goschenen to Fluelen and later boat from Fluelen to Lucerne. The only part I am not sure when checking schedules on SBB is when train is listed as IC2 is that consider reginal ? Some of them have RE I assume those are regional.

    Any train Lugano to Flüelen via Göschenen that is not the GPEX is a regular train. If you expand the timetable to show intermediate stops you should see “Gotthard-Panoramastrecke” just before you reach Göschenen. That will confirm you are on the right track.
