    Hi,

My husband and I are travelling to Lugano in August and I thought it would be fun to try the Panorama express on the way back from Lugano to Zurich airport.

However we are only interested in taking the train and do not want to do the boat part of the trip. How would we do this? I know that on the way back the panorama express will stop at Arth- Goldau, is this a good place for us to take another train back to Zurich airport?

    Many Thanks

    Nida

    Hi Nida,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

Yes, it is possible to skip the boat and just take the train for your Gotthard Panorama Express experience. You’ll find the route explained in detail here: http://www.myswissalps.com/gotthardpanoramaexpress/gettingthere

In this case, you’ll be travelling on the train via Lugano–Bellinzona–Gotthard–Flüelen–Arth-Goldau. From Arth Goldau, there are regular trains to Zurich. Please use the timetable to plan your journeys: http://www.myswissalps.com/timetable

You’ll find information about tickets and seat reservation on the Gotthard Panorama Express here: http://www.myswissalps.com/gotthardpanoramaexpress/tickets

Hope this gets you started. Let us know if you need further information.

    Regards,

    Anna
