We are here, currently in Engelberg. Planning on going to First later this week and doing the Cliff Walk. Question: How strenuous is the climb to the Cliff Walk itself? I have read elsewhere that there is a climb involved. And, from the access point to the return, how long would this take, start to finish (essentially)? We ask because legs are not the strongest and get weary after awhile. Thanks.

    HI Djblacksmith,

The First Cliff Walk is fairly easy. It’s not an actual trail but an elevated walkway build around a cliff. A bit nerve-wrecking if you have a fear of heights but otherwise an easy path which takes no more than 10 mins to complete.

You can further information on how to get there from this link: http://www.myswissalps.com/grindelwaldfirst

    Regards,

    Anna

You take a gondola up to the First Cliff walk area and there you can stroll about with no problems at all.
