Hi thanks for your advice and I bought a half fare card.

However I can’t seem to update my settings on SBB to reflect this. Are you able to advise on this?

    thanks

I don’t have the app in front of me at the moment but but when you go to buy a ticket there is an option to edit passenger details. You need to make sure the passengers are set to full-fare (1/1) or, in your case, half-fare (1/2) to take advantage of the Swiss Half Fare Card.

ps Just checked it out. When you proceed to purchase a particular ticket you will get to a screen “Ticket Options”. If you don’t see (1/2) next to your name then you need to click the red “Edit travelers” link. Once in there click the pencil icon to edit and pick 1/2 and click Accept.

You are now good to go for all future purchases.
