Help to plan route to and from Jungfraujoch
-
Hi everyone! It’ll be my first time travelling to Switzerland this coming first week of November, and my itinerary includes a visit to Jungfaujoch. I’ve been reading about it, but just got so overwhelmed with all the routes and options and costs that should be considered. X_X\
Here are some details of my trip:
Dates to visit Jungfraujoch: either Nov 1 or 2
I’ll be coming from: Basel.
What I want to do: 1) Visit Jungfraujoch, and 2) do the EIGERLETSCHER – ALPIGLEN Eiger Trail along the way (is it even “open” during week 1 of Nov). I also have this in mind: “The Jungfraubahn railway begins its climb at the Kleine Scheidegg, which you can reach from Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald. The best plan is to go one way and come back the other.”
I’m terribly confused as to which should be my point of origin and destination, and if I need to buy separate tickets PER route? Here’s my initial itinerary–is it correct:
Basel -> Kleine Scheidegg, buy tickets to Jungfraujoch (round trip?)
From Jungfraujoch -> Eigerletscher, then hike to Alpiglen
From Alpiglen -> do I go back to Kleine Scheidegg? Is this still covered by my round trip ticket or do I need to purchase separately?
Kleine Scheidegg -> Grindelwald?
I’m also planning to avail of the 4-day Swiss Travel Pass. I allotted 1 day for Bern, 1 day for Lucern, 1 day for Jungfrau, and 1 day for Interlaken / Zermatt
I hope this post isn’t as confusing as my thoughts are at the moment. Help, please. 🙁
