Hi There,

My friend and I will be travelling together and the purpose of our trip is a bit of everything, exploring cities, alot of hiking and taking the scenic rail.

This is our itinerary, can you advise the best pass to buy? We are thinking we would get the Swiss Travel Pass Consecutive for 8 days and activate it on Day 3.

Day 0 – Arr. Zurich, Explore Zurich in the evening

Day 1 – Explore Zurich in the morning, Zurich to Lucerne

Day 2- Explore Lucerne

Day 3- Lucerne to Interlaken to Grindelwald

Day 4- Explore Bernese Oberland area / Hikes

Day 5- Bernese Oberland Region

Day 6 – Bernese Oberland Region

Day 7 – Interlaken to Montreux on GoldenPass, Montreux to Zermatt

Day 8 – Explore Zermatt

Day 9 – Zermatt to Chur on Glacier Express

Day 10 – Bernina Express – Chur to Tirano

Indeed, I agree that an 8 day Swiss Travel Pass starting on day 3 makes sense: myswissalps.com/swisst ravelpass. Depending on your exact activities in Zurich on day 1, you may profit from a Zurich Card: myswissalps.com/zurich /travel . And for day 2: your hotel in Lucerne will provide a free Visitor Card which offers some discounts: myswissalps.com/lucern e/hotels.

An alternative would be the Swiss Half Fare Card, which offers a 50% discount on all trips during your entire stay: myswissalps.com/swissh alffarecard. Calculations would have to prove which option is most economical in your case: myswissalps.com/train/ ticketspasses/practica l/chooserailpass.
