    Hi,

I will be travelling with my family of 7, of which, 5 are in their mid to late 50s in the last week of March 2019. My initial plan was to take them up to Harder Kulm via the funicular or the Brienz Rothorn Bahn but to my dismay, I found out that they are not opened till mid April.

As such I need to find some itineraries that can match the spectacular views of Harder Kulm/ going up the Brienz Rothorn Bahn. Anyone has any recommendations for cog wheel/cable car/funicular routes that we can take from Interlaken/Lake Brienz(where we will be staying for 4 nights)? Hiking would be a problem as one of my aunt has difficulty walking. Thanks in advance!

Rothorn and Harder Kulm are summer destinations, as neither are ski resorts, hence they don’t open in winter.

You will need to go to the Jungfrau area – as those trains run all year round.

Hi Wesleylky and welcome to myswissalps

The Jungfrauregion has lots to offer and I don’t think you need to worry too much about not getting nice views. Find a general overview of the region with attractions and activities http://www.myswissalps.com/ju ngfrauregion/activitie s

As a more specific recommendation I would consider the Schilthorn with its revolving restaurant and stunning views: http://www.myswissalps.com/sc hilthorn

Or look into Mount First as another option.

Feel free to ask any further questions that arise.

    Best,

    Steph

    Hi 1960man and Steph,

Thank you for the reassuring information and suggestions. I have decided to take my family to Grindelwald and up Mount First!
