If you are interested in the Via Ferrata try Ben’s report here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/forum/topic/no-4-of-16-day-trip-report-kandersteg-viaferrata

I haven’t been to that lake but other members have – try searching for ‘Oeschinensee’ or ‘Lake Oeshinen’ and ‘Kandersteg’ using our search box on top right for more threads.

I did the trip in 1989 so may be a little out of date. I remember the walk did not require special equipment but was longer and steeper than I expected.

Kandersteg was the base for my 1989 trip and there are some wonderful excursions that can be done from there.

I haven’t done that hike, but this info might be useful:

    http://www.passionrando.fr/pa ges/rando92.php

Only in French, but Google can translate it if you don’t read French. It seems to be the route you are considering, but also with a side trip up to the Fründenhütte.

A Google search for Fründschnuer or Fründenschnuer will also bring up further info, but results are not as good as they could be due to so many sites spelling it a different way.
