Hello.

We are a family of 4 planning to spend 3 days in Mürren this Summer. Arriving in the afternoon by car, and going up to spend 3 nights at a hotel in Mürren.

The following day we will most likely go with cable car to Schiltorn.

The next day we would like to go hiking in the same area. Any good advices about where to go? We are quite experienced in hiking, but prefer moderate difficulties.

Would we benefit from pre-purchasing a travel pass for the cable cars? If so, what kind of travel pass?

We have suggestions for activities and hikes near Mürren here.

There are some nice passes for the Jungfrau region (around Mürren) like the Jungfrau Travel Passthat you should look into. Swiss Half Fare Cards are also popular for hikers and/or those traveling by car.

The Bernese Oberland pass may be suitable. The “tramway” at Murren is a fascinating ride as is the cable car to Schilthorn. Enjoy!
