Hi,

I will be traveling to lucerne May 7th and want to do some hiking on Mt. Rigi. I was wondering if someone could break down the cost. I know there is a popular boat to Vitznau where you can then begin the hike. After that if you want hike up rather than take the cogwheel and cable cars, is there a fee?

Yes you can take a boat from Lucerne to Vitznau to start the hike. The price will depend on what other rail passes you have in addition. For point to point tickets, have a look at this section: http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/switzerland
