We'll be in the Juanfrau Region at the very end of May. Generally speaking, would the hiking path from Mürren to Gimmelwald be open? I realize it is totally snow dependent, but is it normally open by then?

Most likely. It was when I was there 20 May 2017.

Hello Timbertrail,

I normally recommend to contact local authorities after arrival to find out about detailed conditions of hikes.

For more inspiration of hikes in the area, please see:

Also find input about the area and generally about the weather in below links:

Hello,

I am quite sure it should be open. I was in Mürren in mid May in 2018, and there was no problem doing the walk to Grimmelwald (not to be confused with Grindelwald). It is actually a paved little road, and so there should be no problem (quaint and picturesque). Just for your info, there was however too much snow when I tried to do the North Face trail. I went back last year in mid June and the North Face was open. I have grown so fond of the breathtaking Mürren area, that I am returning again in 2020, this time in late June. You will enjoy your stay I am sure.
