The hotel recommendations for Zürich on My Swiss Alps include the Hotel Adler, Rosengasse 10, on the Hirschenplatz in the Niederdorf.

I have been staying there since 2004 or perhaps earlier, because it fits my travel patterns very well.

My annual Christmas card from the hotel arrived in early January, and learned from it that the hotel is now air-conditioned.

I don’t know how they did that in a building that is about 6 1/2 centuries old, but it will certainly be appreciated in the warmer months.

The Niederdorf is a very lively neighborhood, full of restaurants, bars, and tourists. The locality can be noisy late at night on weekends, but the windows are almost soundproof. So, the rooms are pretty quiet with the windows closed. But , in the summer, opening the windows can let in a bit of noise, especially on weekend nights. Air conditioning will be a major improvement.

Thanks for sharing that here Slowpoke. It can certainly get hot in Zurich in summer, so this is a great investment by them I think.
