please search on booking.com and put Zurich Airport as search criteria. You will get options in CHF 150 per night. This will be good help if you are taking morning flight. Also Zurich Airport is just 10 minutes by train to Zurich hbf so you can keep this as a base for Zurich sightseeing. I have personally not stayed hence I am not giving any particular recommenadation

There is no need for walking distance. Most of hotels have shuttle for airport

I will be coming from Rome to Zurich HB. Staying one night before I travel to Chur, Zermatt, Vevey, Lucerne and back in Zurich. Going to have three big bags so staying near Zurich HB & looking for a walking distance accommodation within my budget.

CHF 150 is unfortunately not enough for a family room in the center of Zurich, but an hotel around the airport should be possible. Most of those offer free shuttles to the airport, and from there it’s a 10-minute train ride to the center. I don’t know your travel date and age of your child (I assume two adults and one child?), but if I check the hotels listed on http://www.myswissalps.com/zu richairporthotels for a random date end of July, I get various options in the airport area slightly over CHF 150. Check https://www.hotelscomb ined.com/Hotel/Fly_Awa y.htm for example. This hotel is very close to Kloten train station, so you don’t even have to travel via the airport to reach the city center.

For the area around the train station in the center of town, you can check https://www.hotelscomb ined.com/Hotel/Iq130_G uesthouse.htm as a low budget option. Otherwise prices start aruond CHF 250 I think: https://www.hotelscomb ined.com/Hotel/Hotel_K rone_Unterstrass.htm.

Hi again,

That’s quite a detour to be honest. Why not take trains from Rome to Tirano via Milan, and take the Bernina Express to Chur or St. Moritz there? Then take the Glacier Express to Zermatt.

Thank you Arno, Let me check my schedule to consider taking Bernina Express.

Noted that the hotels in center of Zurich are bit higher than my budget. I will revisit my budget accordingly, if needed to go to Zurich.
