<<“Bus 321 to and from Stanstad Bahnhof (railway station) is an alternative means of transport one or both ways.”>>
Hi Alpenrose-
That is a nice train ride, and a the bus ride will have some nice views, but I recall a special interest in taking the lake boat…..?
The road up from Stanstad is kind of twisty…interesting to ride a bus on it.

Hi Rockoyster…my original guess that the funicular was covered by the STP was based on a false premise. Town to town transport is covered ( as in the bus route mentioned by Alpenrose.)
“Excursion” lines such as this privately owned and run funicular are priced at the discretion of the owners. Thus, the fare for the line up to Kleine Scheidegg from Wengen, and the line from KS to Jungfraujoch are high priced. The SBB has negotiated a25% discount for STP holders, and 50% discount for half-fare holders. Still, expensive.
In contrast- the “town to town” section of the line from Lauterbrunnen up to Wengen costs only a few CHF . It is public transport, even though it is exactly the same train that then proceeds from Wengen to KS.
So, Bürgenstock must not be a town. 😉

Hi Slowpoke,
Google maps suggests Bürgenstock Resort is at Stanstad! And yes that Bürgenstockstrasse sure is wiggly to start off with.

Could be. The Gemeinde may include the ridge upon which Bürgenstock resides. However, just because it is within the Gemeinde ( commune, township) does not mean that it is a village…i guess…;-)
