Hi CKV and welcome to MySwissAlps!

You can train from Lauterbrunnen to Zermatt fairly easily - check train schedules with the timetable: https://www.myswissalp s.com/timetable

In Zermatt you can either go to the Klein Matterhorn or Gornergrat for the best views of the Matterhorn.

You won't use the Glacier Express on a day trip from Lauterbrunnen to Zermatt. Route is Lauterbrunnen - Interlaken - Spiez - Visp - Zermatt. Just take any MGB railway regional train from Visp.

Read other posts about how to see the Matterhorn at Zermatt. Best to go up the Gornergrat railway
