Good day! I am planning a day trip to Lucerne and Stanserhorn from Interlaken. Any advice on how to get back to Interlaken from Stanserhorn? Are there trains available? What route should I take?

Also, I will have a Swiss Travel Pass. It says there that “The trip to Stanserhorn is free;” but I’ve read that you will have to ride some train and funiculars to get there from Lucerne. Does my Swiss Travel Pass provide me free rides going up to Stanserhorn and down? or is it just one way? Thanks!

    Hi kwonyuri608,

Yes, the trip to Stanserhorn is totally free (up and down). If it is noted as free on the Swiss Travel Pass page here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpass/ validity then it is free (all the way) :).

You’ll have to get a boarding pass before getting on the funicular at Stans, so you’ll need to go to the ticket office, show your STP and get the boarding pass.

Routes from Stanserhorn to Interlaken can be found on the timetable: https://www.myswissalp s.com/timetable
