We will be staying in Murren and Lausanne. There just does not look like an easy way to get to the Gelmer Funicular in Bern. Unless I am looking at it wrong, it would take up a whole day to do this. Is it worth it. Best way to get there.

    Hi Dashworthpa,

It would be easier to get to the Gelmer Funicular (Gelmerbahn) from Mürren than Lausanne. From Mürren, travel to Interlaken Ost and take the regional train to Meiringen. In Meiringen, take the bus that goes to Oberwald and get down at Handegg, Gelmerbahn. You can also take a train to Innertkirchen and switch to a bus there. The journey Mürren – Gelmerbahn takes roughly about 2.5 hours. If you are going there from Lausanne, it would take longer.

Please use the SBB timetable to plan your trips. The stop for the Gelmer funicular is Handegg, Gelmerbahn.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anna
