Where would a person get on a train or cable car from lauterbrunnen or interlaken to access the festival held at Maanlichen. Would the crowd at wengen be really crowded or should we leave from grindelwald

    Hi dc3749,

Here is how you can reach Männlichen: http://www.myswissalps.com/mannlichen/gettingthere

Yes, there will be more people because of the Mountain Spring Festival but you can manage to get there for sure. Note that the Festival is from 9:45 to 14:30 h on 26 June 2022. It is not for the whole day.

It will be great. Have fun!

    Hi dc3749 and Ildiko,

Again I read – this time on the Myswissalps ‘Männlichen/getting there’ page that ildiko linked to – that the Eiger Express goes to Jungfraujoch.

    It does not.

In about 20 spectacular minutes from Grindelwald Terminal, the Eiger Express cableway goes only to Eigergletscher. From there it’s another 36 minutes, mostly in a tunnel, by Jungfraubahn train to Jungfraujoch.

Both the Eiger Express and the Männlichen Gondola start from Grindelwald Terminal and together form the two ‘arms’ of the V-Bahn.

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for the heads up. We’ll amend the sentence shortly to avoid misinformation.

    Hi Andrew!

Thanks for your input. I think you’re referring to this phrase: “The Eiger Express cableway to Jungfraujoch departs from Grindelwald Terminal as well”, right?

I can see how that can be interpreted as the Eiger Express going straight to Jungfraujoch. This is just a quick note in the context of https://www.myswissalps.com/mannlichen/gettingthere, pointing to the fact that the Jungfraujoch is another destination to be reached from Grindelwald Terminal. We link to our Jungfraujoch page in that phrase, and all routes are described in detail at https://www.myswissalps.com/jungfraujoch/gettingthere (see “Option 3: trains and cable car via Grindelwald: Interlaken-Grindelwald-Eigergletscher (‘Eiger Glacier’)-Jungfraujoch (1h36)”).

Of course we want to avoid any misunderstanding, so we’ve slightly rephrased the sentence and that will be visible within a few days.
