You are right. Taking a boat to Beaus caves does involve a bit of walking and the bus stop is right at the base of the cave. We preferred to take the bus for the same reason. Also for the fact that we had also included Niederhorn as our first halt. So after we got down the funicular at Beatenbuscht, we took bus no 21 to Beatushöhlen..
you can check out google maps to see the distance to you have to walk. If you are ok, do check the boat timings if they are suitable to you. In my case there was no boat available in the morning from Interlaken West towards Thun hence we did not have a choice. Check the boat timings at fahrplan.bls.ch/
Don’t forgot to carry the discount card given your hotels ( if any). Beatus caves is not covered in Swiss pass and the hotel discount card saves you some bucks
Also,
Know that the walk insider the cave is almost 1 km one way so set your expectations accordingly 🙂

Hi Trips,
I believe Rohan has already provided the perfect answer to your question.
Find out about travel times and connections using the timetable below. You will want to work with the advanced timetable and also make sure you read how it works:

You should be able to fit in Schynige Platte, always depending on how much time you spend at each place and also when you start you day. Use above timetable to find out.

Thanks a lot Rohan and Steph. Just a little more clarification. Can I take the bus to beautus caves and then can do a boat trip from beatushohlen to Thun instead of Interlaken to Thun? Would I miss much on the scenic beauty between interlaken to beatushohlen that way? I hope the boat stops at beatushohlen. Another option is to do the caves on return journey by train from thun to interlaken. Please advise.

Hi Trips,
That’s fine as well, the bus ride is also quite nice (if you sit on the left from Interlaken to the caves). The boat dock is less than 10 minutes on foot from the caves. It’s probably best to do the boat ride first because it doesn’t operate as frequent as the buses, but any direction is fine basically.

Thanks Arno. I will take the boat ride and on my return journey can get down from the train and take a bus to the caves.
