even after reading the information on taking the train from lauterbrunnen to Murren, i am still confused. is it one train or many trains and how long does the trip take? i checked the train schedule and it says 23 mns. but then in another place, it says over 2 hours. Please help clarify for me. thank you
How to get to Mürren is explained on our Mürren page here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/murren/travel
Those details can be found on the timetable: https://www.myswissalp s.com/timetable
Most people make it a round trip can go up one way and back the other. :)
Thank you for your prompt response. It was helpful.
Lauterbrunnen to Stechelberg is by bus, then gondola to Murren. The other route is by cogwheel.
We took one route up and another down. You would walk a few blocks thru the village.
There is a picture with the routes marked on this page:
Thank you for posting the route so clearly. Great help indeed.
Thanks Alpenrose. The picture on your link is SO helpful.
Hi Nguyenmychau and Balli,
Glad you found the picture useful! As they say, a picture is worth 1000 words ...
If you take the BLM train (a one carriage electric unit) from Murren make sure you sit on the right; the views are spectacular.
Enjoy your travels!
where you going from Murren on the BLM train?

The BLM (Bergbahn Lauterbrunnen–Mürren = Lauterbrunnen-Mürren mountain railway) just runs a short stretch taking almost 15 minutes, between Mürren and Grütschalp (above Lauterbrunnen).
It makes one intermediate stop at Winteregg, where there is a restaurant and a children's playground with wonderful views.
At the Grütschalp station, you get a cable car down to Lauterbrunnen.
