Some of you might be interested in using online maps of Switzerland, either just for the fun of it or for preparing activities during your holidays.

I have found the following sites to be useful:

    1. http://map.search.ch/
English Language available. This map and can be used in Map and Aerial view. A lot of usefull general information can be found on this site.

    2. http://www.schweizmobil.ch/de/welcome.cfm
English language available. Information about hiking, mountainbiking, canoeing, cycling, skating, all with national, regional and local routes and possibility to search for routes. Zoom in and you’ll get a very detailed topographical map. Map view and satellite view.

    3. http://map.wanderland.ch/
see 2. The sites #2 and #3 seem closely related.

    4. http://www.wandermap.net/
English language available. Basically this is a World Map. Zoom in on Switzerland and you’ll find a lot of information about all kinds of routes as well as excursion tips, weather, places to stay, etc. Map views: Map, Hybrid and Terrain.

I guess I don’t have to mention Google Earth?

    Enjoy,
