we would be travelling from innsburck to zurich, zurich to interlaken on 16th october. Since we planned to get swiss half fare card, based on our itinerary can i use half fare card for our travel from austria. Please prpovide details from where i need to get half fare card and how it can be activated in austria

You can buy your Swiss Half Fare Card from any of the retailers at http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isshalffarecard. Most of them send a print-at-home pass by e-mail within minutes and no further activation is required. Just print your pass, carry it along and you’re ready to go: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isshalffarecard/howtou se. You could try these retailers, for example:

• https://shop.switzerla ndtravelcentre.com

The Swiss Half Fare Card will only be valid for the Swiss portion of your trip: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isshalffarecard/validi ty. So additionally you need:

• regular tickets from your Austrian departure town to the Swiss border (mostly Buchs)): http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/austria;

The Swiss half fare card, as the name implies, is only valid in Switzerland.

In theory a ticket Innsbruck – Austrian/Swiss border (ie Buchs SG) at normal fare and a half fare ticket within Switzerland would be cheapest, but it may not work out like that as International trains often now have ‘global’ fares. The terminus of trains from Innsbruck is Zürich, so a ticket to Zürich might come out the same as a ticket just as far as Buchs
