Hi. I was planning to go to Lauterbrunnen from Interlaken on Nov 2. in order to go to Schilthorn. How will we be able to get there if the railway is closed. I wanted to walk through Lauterbrunnen and then take the cable car to Murren to walk through the village and then go to Schilthorn. Thank you in advance.

Hi Zyla,

There are replacement buses, see 1960man’s post. Train tickets are valid on those buses. Also see “Dates of operation” here: http://www.myswissalps.com/sc hilthorn/gettingthere (you can’t take the cable car from Lauterbrunnen, only the one from Stechelberg to Mürren will operate).

Thank you! How would I do this trip? Imterlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen.-Lauterbrunnen to Murren- Murren to Schilthorn and return to Interlaken Ost. We have Swiss Travel passes!I want to see Lauterbrunnen,Murren and Schilthorn! Would I have to skip Lauterbrunnen? Thank you in advance!

Hi Zyla,

The route is Interlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen by the replacement bus, then the regular bus to Stechelberg. From there the cableway up to Mürren and to Schilthorn. Same way back. The whole trip is free with your Swiss Travel Pass: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity.
