Hi,

On last day of our trip we will be moving to Zurich. We will reach zurich by 12 pm. After that we can either spend rest of our day in Zurich or do 1/2 day trip to Basel/ St. Galen / Rhine falls or even Lucern . I am inclining more towards Basel as most part of our trip we are spending near Lauterbrunnen and Gstaad area to enjoy nature, so we can instead experience architecture in Basel. Looking fwd to your suggestions about whether 1/2 day trip sounds reasonable. We have our flight next afternoon from zurich. Any other suggestions apart from places I have listed are also very welcome.

Also where can I find if swiss travel pass covers museum and cathedral entries in Basel? I got details about boat ride coverage but couldn’t figure out other attraction entries.

Hi Suri! Well, that’s a tough choice. All destinations you mention are worth it, I think. Basel is definitely nice, and you can explore the town in half a day: http://www.myswissalps.com/basel. However, if you’re interested in architecture, you’ll definitely like Zurich too: http://www.myswissalps.com/zurich. I’d personally prefer spending the afternoon in Zurich to save on travel time, but of course this is entirely up to you.

Basel is worth more than half a day. River, three countries corner, narrow hilly streets etc. Although the train doesn’t take long to travel between Zurich and Basel, can you not adjust your itinerary to go via Basel to Zürich?

Just stay in Zurich. You can easily fill half a day with this city tour.

Thank you 1960man and rockoyster. My itinerary is really full. I think I will drop Basel this time. Hope we can visit it in another trip.
