Which Swiss Pass did you get? There are several. (Swiss travel pass, Swiss travel pass flex, Swiss half fare card). For the mountains, you will have extra cost as these passes don’t cover it all. Zürich to Jungfrau is over 3 hours each way. Any reason for choosing Zürich? Lucerne for example gets you closer to the mountains, less time traveling on trains.

    HI Abid,

I’m assuming you have a fixed Swiss Travel Pass for the whole family for 4 days and you are staying in Zurich overnight.

The pass gives you 25% off for the last leg to Jungfraujoch and 50% off the last leg for Titlis, please check the validity here: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity

Since you have a Swiss Travel Pass, it doesn’t matter what route you take, the cost for the last portion of the trip is the same as it’s the only way to get there 🙂

As Pvonk said, you will have a very long day visiting those sites from Zurich, but it’s doable. To check the travel times and route, you can use our timetable: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable

    Have a wonderful trip!

    Maria.

    Hi again!

Here are answers to your questions:

    1) Travelling with kids on Swiss trains is very convenient, so I don’t think you should try the bus, plus generally travelling by bus takes a lot longer in Switzerland, but it is your choice of course 🙂

    2) Check the timetable link I sent you: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable to see what you are comfortable with.

    3) If your hotel is near the airport, check if they have a shuttle to the train station by contacting the hotel directly or looking on their site.

    4) You will need to check the timetable as I said.

    5) Check the Swiss Travel Pass validity as mentioned earlier.

    Have a wonderful trip!

    Maria.

    Hi Abid,

    3) you can enter the address of your hotel on the timetable from Maria and then Jungfraujoch as your destination and it will tell you how to get there (bus or tram to a train station and then the train to catch to Jungfraujoch). It will be at least 4 hours each way.

    5) see above – the timetable gives you the quickest routing to each mountain from wherever you are

    Hi Abid,

    1) 99% of all trains do not require reservations. Please see http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/reservations.

    2) Our Zurich page provides a lot of suggestions: http://www.myswissalps.com/zu rich. A walk like http://www.myswissalps.com/hi king/zurich might be nice, but you’ll find many other options there as well.

    3) All transportation can be found in the timetable Maria linked to. If you need a bus on any trip it will show that. Most transportation is by train though.

    4) You’ll find details on everything free and discounted with the Swiss Travel Pass here: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity.

You can check the route on the timetable: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable

The Swiss Travel Pass will not cover the whole route, so here is a link for train tickets from France to Switerland: http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/france

    Happy planning!

    Hi Abid,

Nice to see you’re planning a visit so Switzerland. Hope you’re looking forward to it.

    – Yes, you only need to buy tickets from Paris – Basel as from there your onward journey to Zurich HB is covered by the Swiss Travel Pass.

    – Yes, most of the places (especially in touristic areas) will accept Euros in Switzerland, whereas only paper money, no coins. And you will receive any change in Swiss Francs.

Follow this link for more information:

    Happy journey.

    Best,
    Steph
