Hi There,

We will be traveling to Switzerland in April, arriving in Bern on the 12th of April 2017. We would like to do a day trip to Jungfraujoch via Interlaken and Grindelwald. Please could you help me with the best way to do this and which trains to take. The passes are not valid in those times so I am unsure of what would be the best way, cost and time wise.

We will also want to go to Neuchatel on another day, what is the best way from Bern to do this?

Thank You and Kind Regards

Adri

Hi Adri and welcome to MySwissAlps!

All you need to do to plan your train trips is enter your details on the Swiss rail website here.

Which passes are you talking about that are not valid at that time?

Hi Lucas, thanks for you reply. I was referring to the Jungfrau Pass, as it states on the website that it is only valid form May 6 to October 22 2017. I this the case or is it valid while we are there too?

Hi Adri,

In that case indeed it won't be available when you're there: myswissalps.com/jungfr autravelpass. But it would not be the best choice for a day trip from Bern anyway as that pass does not cover the Bern to Interlaken leg.

I'd recommend to look into the Swiss Half Fare Card, or perhaps a Swiss Travel Pass. You can check the instructions here to calculate which pass works best price wise.
