I understand there is a “Jungfrau Travel Pass” for 3, 4, 5 or 6 days. We will be in Grindelwald for four days and want to see the usual sites plus do some hiking. Is this an economical way to reduce the costs of the gondolas, etc.? Can it be purchased when we are in Grindelwald or does it need to be purchased prior to leaving the U.S.?

Hi monsniger,

Yes, usually the Jungfrau Travel Pass is a good way to reduce your costs in the Jungfrau region.

To know for sure what the best rail pass is you'll need to plan out all your trips and then add up costs and compare pass discounts - another popular pass is the Swiss Half Fare Card and the Swiss Travel Pass.

We can help with the math and comparisons on our page here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/train/ticketspas ses/practical/choosera ilpass
