We will be staying in Lauterbrunnen in September and want to visit Jungfraujoch. We will be purchasing a Swiss Travel Pass. In understand that the train to Kleine Scheidigg is free, but what I can seem to find out is what the cost will be to take the cog train up to the top. Help.

I think the train to wengen and grindewald is free and covered under the Swiss travel pass from wengen to kleine schedigg and up to jungfrajoch has a 25% deduction: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/validity.

    Hi Joe,

    >> In understand that the train to Kleine Scheidigg is free

No, it’s not. Impactedmind is correct in saying that the Swiss Travel Pass provides free travel as far as Grindelwald or Wengen. Then you get 25% discount from there to the Jungfraujoch.

These links will provide you with further information:

    Jungfraujoch (including route options)

    Jungfrau Region price list

You can download a map from the link below, showing what is covered by the Swiss Travel Pass.

As explained in the legend on the map:

    • Red lines are trains, yellow lines are buses, black lines are cable cars, white lines are boats.
    • Solid lines are free.
    • Dotted lines are discounted: discounts are mostly 50%, but only 25% for transport where you see the number “1” inside circle near the dotted line.
    • There are a few grey lines on the map as well, which indicate transport that is not covered by the Swiss Travel Pass.
    • Dashed red lines on the map are railway tunnels, all of which are on routes that are free with the Swiss Travel Pass.
