    Dear Team

i am travelling to interlaken on 11th June and planning to stay 3 days there.

I am planning to visit jungfraujoch on 12th June, is it recommended to buy tickets from (Wengen to jungfraujoch ) in advance (i will be buying a swiss pass) , not sure how the weather look like that time ?

Also if i not buy in advance then would it be at risk to get the tickets during high peak period , if i buy on the same day?

    Thanks in advance

    regards

    Varun

    Hi Varun,

I don’t think it would be risky in early June to buy tickets to Jungfraujoch on the same day. And a good idea to see the weather before committing to going up.

Hi GOILSJ and welcome to MySwissAlps!

You can buy tickets in advance for Jungfraujoch here. You can reserve a time and date but make sure the weather looks good again before buying. Worst-case, if you don’t buy in advance you have to wait for the next train if it is very busy.

    Hai,

Just now reached Lucerne after visiting Jungfrau n Berne.

Always look weather and it’s easy to get tickets at Interlaken early morning directly to Jungfrau with Swiss travel pass, 134.40 chf. Three train you have to catch through different route as time permits. By where are you going to stay?

Really awesome Country with good connection of trains.

Thanks to this website, one of the best I have seen including all moderators like Lucas, Alpenrose, etc..

Jungfraujoch is the only mountain excursion I heard of so far that can actually sell out. It’s rare but it did happen during wonderful summer days. So a last minute purchase in late July is more risky than early June.

I’ll be staying at Airbnb apartment near Interlaken West train station.

Planning to visit Bern, Harder Kulm, Lake Thun and Junfraujoch.

Are all these separate day trips?

    Needs special bookings?

    Thanks

The key to knowing how much you can fit into one day is to use the Swiss Timetable to plan your trips. How much time you spend at any one attraction is a personal choice.

Here is information about each attraction you mentioned:

    >> Needs special bookings?

No. Tickets for all can be bought shortly before travelling.

If you have a Swiss Travel Pass:

    • The train to Bern, transport within Bern, and boats on Lake Thun are free, and you don’t need to buy a ticket – simply show your pass on request.
    • You get a 50% discount on the funicular to Harder Kulm
    • You get free travel to Grindelwald or Wengen, and 25% discount between Grindelwald or Wengen and the Jungfraujoch.

If you have any follow-up questions, it will avoid confusion if you start a new thread of your own in the appropriate forum 🙂
