We will be arriving in Interlaken on Golden Pass train around lunchtime when we travel there in late September. We would like to take a boat trip on Lake Brienz to Brienz that afternoon and return to Interlaken via train to stay the night before heading to Lucerne the next day. Can someone advise please what is the frequency of boats departing Interlaken at this time of year and is it feasible to do this in an afternoon? I understand that it is neither necessary nor possible to book a place on these boats. I am hoping to be able to utilise our France / Switzerland travel pass for the cruise.

    Thank you!

    Hi pstaff,

The link under “More on other websites” on myswissalps.com/ boatlakebrienz takes you to the timetable. You can take the 13:07 boat, for example. It arrives in Brienz at 14:20, where you can take the 14:37 train back. You can board the boat without booking in advance, and show your Eurail France-Switzerland Pass upon request.
