    Hi,

We’re due to be in Lausanne and Geneva next week for a few days, and plan to possibly take a boat trip to Yvoire and Evian-les-Bains. We have the Swiss Travel Pass. Are these return boat trips covered by the pass even though one point of destination/departure is in France? Just wondering if it works the same for the return trip from Tirano on the Bernina Express even though it originates in Italy.

    Thanks in advance.

    Colin

    Hi Colin,

The website of the Lake Geneva boat company indicates that the Swiss Travel Pass is valid on all their cruises, which includes both Yvoire and Évian-les-Bains.

“The Swiss Travel Pass is valid on all our cruises (except for events and “Festival de Fondues” cruises).”

    http://www.cgn.ch/en-gb/content/faq.aspx

The Swiss Travel Pass is also valid if you board the Bernina Express (or a regional train along the same route) in Tirano. If you take the Bernina Express, reservations are compulsory.

    Hi Colin,

For more details on Lake Geneva boat cruises click here.

If you need to make reservations on the Bernina Express you can do so here and if you want a PDF map of what is covered by the Swiss Travel Pass look here.

    Cheers,

    Hi Alpenrose and Lucas,

Thanks for your responses, they clarify things. It was just the terminology of a “cruise” vs a “ferry” type ride that I wasn’t too clear about.

    Cheers
