I am planning to purchase a 15 day swissalps pass. Question:

1. Are the Lake Geneva boat trips free with the pass? If so, do I just show up on the dock (what dock more specifically!) and get on a boat?

That seems crazy because the the CGN website allows you to make a reservations but I would be paying full fare. We just want to be able to go from Geneva to Yvoire .

Hi TMKA,

do you mean the Swiss Travel Pass, right? Boat rides are included in the Swiss Travel Pass, you do the same as on the trains: you need just to board and enjoy the trip. The reason, why CGN asks you to pay for it, ad Yvoire is already in France. You can use the Swiss Travel Pass only in Switzerland.

I still suggest you to do the trip, as it is a very nice medieval village.

If you do not wish to pay for it, then take an other boat ride. You can find the validity of the Swiss Travel Pass at http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity. Look at the lake on the map, you’ll see, where you can travel for free.

Yvoire is free on the Regional Pass Lake Geneva – Alps (https://www.myswissalp s.com/regionalpasslake geneva), but not the countrywide STP (https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstravelpass/ validity).
