Hi There!
Looking at the timetable and I only see one ferry going on this route on June 1 – 1140-1220. We are wanting to go later in the day. Does anyone know if there is another way to take a boat on this route and I way to find those schedules?
Thanks!
Mark

Looks like train is your only other option if the 11:40 doesn’t suit.

Rivaz – St Saphorin is not a very important lake boat (Swiss lake boats are not generally described a ‘ferries’) stop, as there is a very frequent local train service. You could take a train beyond to Vevey or Montreux and come back to St Saphorin on the boat
needforsneedParticipant36 posts16 May 2018 at 11:18:01 #885341Thanks Rockoyster and 1960man! Looks like there is a 1530 boat with stops in Pully, Lutry, Cully and Vevey – we could take that one and then train one way or the other from there. I was using the rome2rio.com planning site that was calling it a “ferry”!
Any suggestions for a strategy for seeing the Lavaux area?

When are you travelling lee? The Train des Vignes is affected by construction works for the period 7 July to 26 August 2018, and won’t be running. A bus replacement service will operate, calling in at all the same stations at which the train normally stops.
I think the scenery will be equally beautiful viewed from the bus, so if you are travelling during the construction period, I would still be inclined to do this trip by bus. It is very short – less than half-an-hour.
You can continue from Puidoux-Chexbres to Lausanne along an equally beautiful route (about 15 minutes). Bus replacement services are also running on this route for the same period, due to construction works.

My travel period is around early Aug 2018, thus I could not find any train schedule (from SBB app) while there are buses due to the construction period.
The areas should be nice and I shall plan the visit there.

However, the Vevey – Puidoux line will be open, but there will be no room for the normal ‘Train des Vignes’ train as the main line local train Fribourg – Lausanne is being diverted to run Fribourg – Puidoux – Vevey – Lausanne.
