Are you referring to weather conditions? There are no guarantees, but generally mid October will be pretty cold. Most probably it won't be freezing yet. There may be fresh autumn snow on mountain tops; snow down in the valleys is a lot less likely. In autumn, fog may cover the lower valleys, whereas skies higher up in the mountains are clear.

It's low season, so it won't be crowded during your visit. Most cable cars and trains are running until mid or late October. I don't know your exact plans, but you may want to check timetables for the trips you have in mind to make sure they're accessible.
