Lauterbrunnen to Locarno by train in June 2018

    We are spending a week in Wengen in June 2018. From Wengen we are going to Locarno for a concert. Show we travel by train? If so is there a high speed train we should take? We are trying to avoid lots of changing trains since we will be 4 persons with luggage. Would car rental be better?

    We will be purchasing the Swiss pass for our 7 day trip.

    Hello becmcentire and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

    Go by train. Fastest route is via Domodossola and the Centovalli Express.

    Use the Swiss Train Timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) to plan your travel. If you haven’t used it before it will pay to read the instructions on that page before delving into the timetable.

    There is no high speed train although the Express may sound like one. It is a slow train but still the fastest route there is, with magnificent scenery.
