Since we’ve been discussing the best known train rides in Switzerland, what about thinking of some that are less often discussed on here. And probably even less ridden; why?

I’ll start the ball rolling with five favourites in no particular order:

    1: Aigle – Les Diablerets

    2: St Gallen – Gais – Altstatten

3: St Moritz – Scuol Tarasp

4: Le Locle – Les Brenets

    5: Luzern – Lenzburg

I’ve ridden them all – and many more!

    1. Zurich – Luzern via Zug and Arth-Goldhau

    2. Luzern -Thun via Langnau and Konolfingen.

2 Brienz to Axalp (post bus)

3 Yverdon-les-Banes to Ste Croix (connect with bus to Buttes to make a lovely round trip)

    4 Liestal to Waldenburg

    5 Rorschach to Heiden
