Hi, We will go from Locarno to Como, Italy by train, stay 2 nights in Como then return to Locarno. We will have a Swiss Half fare card. Can we purchase the return fare with the HFC in advance? If so, what is the best way to purchase? I seem to end up on deadends on the SBB app and the SBB online site. Thank you for any advise you can offer.

Yes, you can get your tickets in advance with your Swiss Half Fare Card (http://www.myswissalps.com/swisshalffarecard) from Locarno (http://www.myswissalps.com/locarno) to Como.

At http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/italy you’ll find all the useful information.

You can get your ticket at http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/italy/price. For example at http://www.trainline.eu you can add your rail pass when selecting the number of adults, choose CFF-Demi Tariff (this is the French name of SBB and the Swiss Half Fare Card).
