What is the best way to get from Lucern to the Zurich airport? I understand that EurRail goes only to Zurich itself, not stopping at the airport. Is there a different rail system that will take me to the airport? If not, what is the best way to get from the Zurich station to the airport?

Zurich Airport station is a major station on the main line rail network, with 10 trains every hour from Zürich. all valid on Eurail.

Many trains serve it directly but not those from the Luzern line so you have to change trains at Zürich HB (Hauptbahnhof) if travelling from Luzern.

Hi Sando,

You are covered on the route to Zurich airport. Be sure to check out the PDF map of covered routes for your Eurail Select Pass here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/eurailselectpass /validity or Eurail Global Pass (if that is the one you have) here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/eurailglobalpass /validity

You also can get direct trains from Luzern to Zurich airport without changing. Check schedules for your date of travel here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/timetable some train require a change and others don't. Trains with connections don't take much longer to get to the airport if you take those trains.

Hi Sando,

Just some background information: Eurail is not a train operator. They don't have trains, only an office :-) Eurail is a pass, sold by various retailers, to use on train routes (see the maps Lucas referred to), regardless of who's operating the train.

Enjoy your trips!

There are direct trains from Lucern at hourly intervals direct to Zurich Flughafen....yes, that is the keyword you have to look for “ Flughafen “ after Zurich which means airport.

If you do not have much luggage, you can go to Zurich HB, which is every 1/2 hour, then catch another train from there to Zurich Flughafen which is almost every 10 minutes.
