    Hi,

We have more or less finalized our schedule.

We arrive Zurich in the morning and will like to cover Lucerne, Interlaken, nearby areas, Jungfrau etc in the first 4 days. On the 5th day, we plan to take Glacier Express from Chur to Zermatt and stay overnight at Zermatt. On day 6, we will proceed to Zurich, do local sightseeing, before flying out of Zurich in the evening.

Considering the above schedule, where should we stay put for the first 4 days – Lucerne or Bern? Your help is much appreciated!

    Best,

    Soumitra

    Hi Soumitra,

Are Lucerne and Bern the only options you want to consider? I was thinking of Meiringen, as it’s in between Interlaken en Lucerne, so you’ll be right in the middle and save on traveling times. Also, it’s located amidst the mountains of the Bernese Oberland; a more Alpine environment than Bern. Lucerne would be an option if you focus on that area more than on Interlaken.

Are you planning on traveling to Chur on the morning of the 5th day, to catch the Glacier Express there? If so, then Lucerne is better (closer) than Meiringen.

Lucerne is the most touristic city by far, but Berne is a beautiful unique city too. I would stay in Lucerne given the choice of the 2, Meirengen is very small but well located for your requirements

Arno – yes, we’re contemplating of traveling to Chur on the day 05 morning.

    Parmo 1 – I think, we’ll settle for Lucerne

Thank you all for your prompt support!
